How did she come to Sports PT? “Sports PT found me!”

years of experience in the healthcare field Graduated from Ithaca College in 1978 with her degree in Physical Therapy
Earned her National Certification in Athletic Training the following year in 1979
Began her physical therapy career in pediatrics while serving as a volunteer high school athletic trainer for various teams
Began her sports medicine management career at Cornell University in 1981 where she was the Supervisor of the Physical Therapy Department
Moved to Syracuse, NY in 1986 to open Onondaga Sports Medicine Center, a sports medicine-focused outpatient rehabilitation center
Joined HealthSouth under a management contract in 1994, where her responsibilities grew from managing two locations in Central New York to more than 50 locations across the state by 2000
Founded Sports Physical Therapy of New York, PC after the termination of HealthSouth’s management agreement on July 1, 2005
What’s her favorite part of the job? “Mentoring my people.”
What does she enjoy outside of work? “Being with my family, volunteering, watching my husband’s football team, reading, and playing golf.”

"I served on the Board of the American Red Cross with Lynn Steenberg and admired hearing her success stories. She offered me a chance to facilitate an All State meeting for Sports PT and I was convinced that I wanted to be part of the next chapter with these wonderful people!"

Director of Clinical Operations
Teresa oversees the clinical operations across Sports PT. Teresa maintains our clinical compliance programs, mentors our new clinicians on best practices, and organizes ongoing clinical education programs for all our physical therapists. Teresa can frequently be found speaking at professional organizations on clinical topics, and is a sought-after advisor to students considering entering the profession.

Becky has been a leader within Sports PT for over 10 years, serving our Western New York locations in Downtown Buffalo, East Amherst, Tonawanda, and Wheatfield. Becky has a passion for treating athletes and is a skilled vestibular clinical provider as well.
As a Regional Manager, Becky oversees the operations of all 4 Western New York locations, as well as mentors new staff and builds community relationships.

Alison has been a leader within Sports PT for over 10 years, serving our Eastern New York locations in Saratoga and Malta. Her desire and passion to treat orthopedic conditions, train new clinicians, and educate our communities in the importance of learning as much as they can in order to have control over their bodies and to not let pain run their lives.
In her role as Regional Manager, Alison helps grow our Eastern New York market, trains staff, and provides clinical mentoring to students. You will find her complete bio by visiting our Saratoga or Malta locations pages.

Chad joined Sports PT in 2018 and has been a positive leader in the CNY market since joining. He currently oversees the operation of our Camillus clinic, as well as lends leadership guidance to our Liverpool team.
Matt has been with Sports PT for 3 years and oversees the operations of our Downtown Buffalo location. During his time with us, Matt has become proficient with mentoring new students, growing relationships in our community, and educating patients on the many benefits of physical therapy.
Shelly has over 15 years in billing and collections experience. She brings a wealth of experience understanding insurance verifications, authorizations and efficient processes to support patient account balances. Shelly works with all our clinics to support our patients in answering insurance questions, and helping helping patients understand their financial responsibility for their care.
Tara has several years experience in customer service and oversees the patient service operations of our Western New York market. She is skilled in insurance verifications, authorizations and assisting patients with understanding their available benefits. Tara is also a leader on our social media team and coordinates our daily social media messages helping us share our great company culture.
Bonnie has over 20 years experience in patient customer service, office administration and insurance knowledge. She is a skilled trainer and valued member of our CNY market, where she provides leadership to both our patient service coordinators and our clinicians.
Theresa brings strong leadership to our customer service team in our Eastern New York market. She helps implement effective processes with our Patient Service Coordinators, develops external relationships in the market, and trains staff on on important workflow approaches.
Lisa has been an integral part of our operations in our Rochester market for over 10 years. She is the welcoming face that greets our patients and helps with getting benefits authorized and removes obstacles that may block their important care. Lisa handles many responsibilities across the state, including training, marketing and outreach, and business reporting and analysis.
